Meg Madison at examiner.com reports a major food recall involving both McDonald’s and Burger King. And what is it? Apple slices! One of their intended healthy offerings. Remember that last year listeria in cantaloupes were sickening and killing people. 

From an economics pov we can watch to see if this impacts the fresh apple market and the stock price of the distributors. It also reminds us that sliced fruit is a processed food, albeit minimally.
